Far Post Supporters,
The great news we
have to share is that plans have begun on the permanent home of Far
Post. It is located on a 17 acre parcel along Route 422 near the
Premium Outlets in Limerick. The new facility will have large indoor
fields greater than those in the original Far Post.
The bigger news is
that we are also planning multiple outdoor fields. Initially, there
will be two large outdoor fields: one synthetic playing field with
top tier outdoor lighting to hold events through the evenings, and
one large grass field available for training and league play. A
third large outdoor field will be constructed over time.
We are very grateful
to those of you that have supported us through the years and helped
to put us in a position to be able to construct this permanent
facility. We can't wait to see you there!
That brings us to
our other news. Over the last two years, we have been mentioning to
you that our temporary space was just temporary, and that our
ultimate goal has been to return to the large indoor fields that we
introduced to southeastern Pennsylvania in 2004. Yes, the short term
small fields have been fun, but we know you greatly prefer our large
fields.
Since this has been
our plan, we did not sign a long term lease for the temporary space.
We were fortunate to get two solid seasons out of that location. Our
landlord has been fortunate enough to sign a 5 year warehousing
lease during this economy. We delayed the delivery of this news
until we received confirmation that they committed to that 5-year
deal. We enjoyed our seven year run with them, and we wish them
well.
Unfortunately, we
won't be able to see you during the course of this winter, and that
is always fun. But, it will allow us to turn our full attention to
our preparations for the new location, and we are very excited about
that and being reunited with you at that venue.
At the new location,
we will again offer indoor league play in both Soccer and Lacrosse
and more, and we will be adding outdoor leagues as well. We have
already begun speaking with some clubs and groups, about the
programs that we will be offering at the new location. If you have
concept/program/partnership ideas that you would like to see at this
new state of the art facility, now is the time to talk to us.
The new location
will allow Far Post to offer the soccer and lacrosse community just
what it wants. After a few near misses for other locations, we are
very excited to make this announcement to all of you. We will keep
you abreast of updates as we reach major milestones for this new
location. Or check our website and the Far Post Facebook page.
We look forward to
the day that you drive up to the new facility with your cleats in
your bags.
Thank you,
Gabe, Monica, and
Dan
